You belong here

Good morning. You may have wondered why this newsletter is called The Family Table.

Well, I want to feel like we are at a table. You sit. I sit. The chairs are nice and comfy. We look each other in the eyes and make a human connection.

Sometimes you stay a while. Sometimes, you have a million other things to do, and it’s only for a minute. But either way, it’s real.

We invite others. (Because tables were made for sharing.)

And then we all take the ideas to our own real-life tables. Creating moments, making memories, and uplifting the people we care about most in this world.

This is what I truly hope the newsletter feels like for you.

So, pull up a chair. And let’s get started.

TABLE WISDOM

“Realize deeply that the present moment is all you ever have. Make the Now the primary focus of your life.” – Eckhart Tolle

Your teen will be gone in 4 years. How many real conversations will you have before then?

Research from the Walton Family Foundation shows that most teens want to talk to their parents. But many parents find these talks hard. So they don’t happen.

Luckily, these are designed to start the conversations that matter, while keeping it fun. Parents tell me they had no idea how much their kids had to say.

Less time stressing over dinner means more time sitting at the table.

TABLE TALK

From @21st Century SAHM

“Having multiple kids is weird. You have one kid you could trust to be home alone for a whole weekend & you know they’d eat vegetables, lock the doors, & wash the dishes.

Then you have another kid who is not allowed to hold an umbrella.

And they’re almost the same age.”
