Are you happy?

Good morning. I’ve been thinking about how the best conversations begin with better questions.

Not “How’s work?” or “What’s new?”

But questions like, “What have you been dreaming about lately?”

Those are the conversations that stay with us. They remind us to slow down, look inward, and truly see the people sitting across the table.

So today’s edition is an invitation to do just that. With yourself and with the people you love.

Let’s gather.

The best conversations don’t always happen at the dinner table. Some of ours have happened in the car. These games start them.

STORIES FROM THE TABLE

Recently, I had breakfast with a dear friend of mine.

She has always been one of my favorite people.

Why?

She possesses a depth of soul that’s uncommon these days.

She’s not into chit-chat about TV shows, social media, or everything that’s wrong with society.

Instead, she’ll start shockingly deep discussions.

She’ll throw out “do you have regrets?” like it’s just a morning coffee conversation.

And, after a few minutes of catching up over eggs, she dove right in:

“Jenn, are you happy?”

Three little words.

It actually took me a few minutes to answer. I haven’t even thought about this in so long.

In the end, I acknowledged that, yes, in a lot of ways, I am happy.

But also, there are things to work on, like anxiety when we’re over-scheduled with 3 kids.

The thing is, I’m so grateful she asked.

No one does that anymore.

And we certainly don’t stop to ask ourselves this enough. It’s too easy to get lost in the day-to-day.

So now, I’d like to do the same for you ⬇️

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

When was the last time you honestly asked yourself, “Am I happy?”

And what is your answer?
