Crazy Fun Super Bowl Dice Game Variations

Want to switch things up? Try one of these Super Bowl–themed twists to keep the game fresh and exciting!

1. Touchdown Timer (Speedy Round!)

Instead of playing until someone reaches 10 pieces, set a 2–3 minute timer. When it ends, the player with the most items wins.

2. Team Play

Split into Team AFC vs. Team NFC (or simply Team Red vs. Team Blue).
Each team pools their items. Players take turns rolling for their team, and whichever team has the largest combined pile at the end wins.

3. Fumble Round

Every time someone rolls a 4, EVERYONE must put one item back in the middle.
This adds sudden “fumble” moments that shake up the game.

4. MVP Roll-Off

At the end of the game, have the top two players roll the die one more time.
Highest roll wins the title of MVP (Most Valuable Player) and gets the first pick from the snack bowl.

5. Penalty Flag Rule

Pick a “penalty roll” (like rolling a 1). When rolled, the player must complete a silly challenge before taking their action. Examples could include:

  • Say a touchdown celebration line
  • Do a 3-second touchdown dance
  • Call “Hut, hut, hike!” in their best voice

6. Snack Draft

Before the game starts, spread all items out and let players “draft” their first four picks fantasy-football style. This adds strategy and excitement from the start.

7. Interception Rule

If two players roll the same number back-to-back, the second roller may “intercept” one item from the first player, even if that number normally doesn’t allow stealing.

8. Overtime Play

If two or more players reach 10 pieces at the same time, they enter overtime:
Each player rolls once, and the highest roll wins everything in the middle pile.
