Why You’ll Love This Roll a Snowman Game

This game is:

  • Easy to set up
  • Budget-friendly
  • Great for small groups or large classrooms
  • Perfect for winter parties or indoor fun

Kids practice turn-taking, number recognition, and creative drawing skills. Plus, they get a giggle out of watching their snowman come together piece by piece.

Note: I used to use this as a prize game for tutoring too. Every time a student got an answer right, they got to roll the die.

Supplies You Need

winter games and activities for kids

Just a few basics:

  • One die
  • The free printable Roll A Snowman sheet (found at the bottom of this post)
  • A flat surface to play on
  • Pencils, crayons, colored pencils, or markers

Display the finished Snowman on the fridge, wall, or bulletin board for some extra winter cheer!

How to Play Roll A Snowman

1. Give each player a Roll A Snowman game sheet and something to use to draw their snowman.

2. Players take turns rolling one die.

3. Each number determines which part of the snowman they draw:

  • 1 = Eyes
  • 2 = Nose
  • 3 = Mouth
  • 4 = Buttons
  • 5 = Hat and Scarf
  • 6 = Arms

If a player rolls a number for something they already drew, they skip their turn and wait for the next roll.

4. The first player to finish their snowman wins!

That’s it! Simple, quick, and full of giggles. Especially if someone keeps rolling the same number over and over!

How long does this game take? Each game takes about 10 minutes. Just long enough to keep kids entertained without losing their attention.

In our house, the funniest part is how different every snowman ends up. Some look adorable… some look like they survived a snowstorm with a sense of humor.

Pro Tip: Print on white cardstock for added durability. You can also store it in a plastic sleeve and use it again!
