Every Christmas Eve, just before bedtime, we step outside to sprinkle our magical reindeer food on the front lawn. It’s our special way of helping Santa’s reindeer find their way straight to our house!
We use a simple reindeer food recipe that’s easy to customize and adjust.
Step 1: Mix the ingredients below:
- Oats (1/4 to 1/2 cup): A hearty snack that fuels the reindeer with energy for their long night.
- Sugar cookie sprinkles or edible glitter: Adds a magical sparkle to light the way and guide Santa’s reindeer straight to your home.
- Cinnamon (1 tsp): The sweet aroma is a favorite of reindeer!
Additional optional ingredients:
- Pumpkin Seeds: A tasty and safe treat for reindeer that adds a nutritious boost to their holiday snack.
- Birdseed: A fun addition that might just give the reindeer a little extra flying power—and it also serves as a treat for other outdoor critters.
Pro Tip: You will want any additions to your reindeer food to mostly disappear by the morning. Stick with ingredients that will easily get lost in grass or snow.
