Simple joys

Good morning. Before the day gets loud, come sit for a minute.

Life can get pretty good at keeping us on the surface.

What’s for dinner? Did you do your homework? Where are your shoes?

But the best moments happen when we go a little deeper.

Ask the unexpected question. Tell your kids something they’ve never heard before. Pause long enough to notice what you’re grateful for.

Those are the moments that turn an ordinary day into one you remember.

So today, we’ve got a few ideas to help you connect, laugh, and make the most of the people around your table.

Your seat is warm and waiting. Let’s gather.

TABLE WISDOM

The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost.”

— Eleanor Roosevelt

”I hate small talk.

I wanna talk about atoms, death, aliens,

magic, intellect,

the meaning of life,

faraway galaxies, the lies you’ve told,

your flaws, your favorite scents,

your childhood, what keeps you up at night,

your insecurity and fears.

I like people with depth,

who speak emotion from a twisted mind.

I don’t want to know “what’s up.”

HAPPY THANKFUL THURSDAY!

This week, I’m thankful for…

The weather. The heat has finally let up around here, and I’ve been so grateful for nature walks that don’t feel like I’m in a sauna.

Amazon deliveries. Twice in the last week, we’ve needed something essential quickly. One day delivery is an amazing luxury.

Football has begun. I don’t really sit down to watch football that often. But I love having it on in the background. There’s something about it that just feels like fall. Don’t you think?
