Ultimate Guide To Playing Outburst
Objective
Score the most points by shouting out answers that fit a category within 60 seconds.
Supplies Needed
- List of Outburst game words. (Play from the post below or shop the printable cards in the digital shop to make game play even easier!)
- A 60-second timer that makes a sound
- Scorecard and pen
How To Play The Game Of Outburst
1. Divide players into two teams. Each team will take turns guessing answers.
2. Team 1 selects a card and reads the category aloud to Team 2. When the timer begins, Team 2 tries to guess as many answers as possible related to that category within 60 seconds.
3. Team 1 checks off the correct answers from the list on the card.
4. Each correct answer is one point. Teams earn one bonus point if they guess all six answers on the card.
5. After the time is up, the next team takes their turn.
6. Continue playing until all cards are used or a set number of rounds are completed.
7. The team with the most points wins!
Helpful Tip: Only answers listed on the card count for points, so encourage players to think fast and shout their guesses quickly.

Alternative Rules For This Outburst Game
You can easily adjust the rules based on the group playing.
- Creative Bonus: Allow bonus points for hilarious or creative (but relevant) answers, if all teams agree.
- Time Change: Play with a 90-second timer for younger players.
- Guess Limit: Limit each team to 10 guesses per round to increase the challenge.
- Free-for-All: Play without teams and award points individually for fast guessers.
