Instructions for the 4th of July Scavenger Hunt
Here’s what to do:
1. Print out the download below. Cut out the cards.
2. Hold on to the first card, and hide every other card according to where the card before tells you to go. If you do it in order, here’s where they go:
Feel free to adjust the hiding spots to fit your home! While this scavenger hunt is designed for outdoor fun, you can easily move clues inside if that works better for your space.
- CARD 1: Give to the scavenger hunt participant(s)
- HIDING SPOT 1: Porch swing or outdoor seating (CARD 2)
- HIDING SPOT 2: Garage fridge, freezer, or cooler (CARD 3)
- HIDING SPOT 3: Grill or fire pit (CARD 4)
- HIDING SPOT 4: Swing set, play house, slide, or anywhere in the backyard (CARD 5)
- HIDING SPOT 5: Garden hose or sprinkler (CARD 6)
- HIDING SPOT 6: Where the broom is kept in the garage (CARD 7)
- HIDING SPOT 7: Under the doormat (CARD 8)
- HIDING SPOT 8: In the toy bin or sports equipment area- Find the prize hidden here!
Pro Tip: To make the hunt more difficult for older kids or adults, get creative with your hiding spots! Hide the cards under and inside objects instead of in plain sight.
3. Next, give the first card to the scavenger hunt participants. Then, watch as they scurry around outside in excitement.
