Kids love these
Good morning. August is here, and if your house is anything like mine, it’s entering that strange season where half the family is soaking up the last days of summer… while the other half is wondering where the backpacks disappeared to.
This time of year reminds me that the little habits we build now become the routines that carry us through the busy months ahead.
So today, we’re making life a little easier, with ideas to spark conversation, lighten the chore load, and create spaces where homework (hopefully) happens without negotiations.
Pull up a chair. Your seat is waiting.

HAPPY THANKFUL THURSDAY!
This week, I’m grateful for…
1. Structure. As much as I love a good laid-back summer, I’m grateful for the routine that fall provides. I need structure as much as the kids do.
2. Feeling better. The kids passed me a cold this week that has made normal tasks hard. But it’s always a good reminder to prioritize rest. And I’m so grateful my body is healthy.
3. With the school year approaching, I’m grateful that my children have access to good public education.

TABLE TALK
“You’re always with your kids. Why don’t you hang out with anyone anymore?”
Because some adults love to talk behind each other’s backs, then smile at the same table.
My kids? They talk trash to my face, and I respect that.
Remember, ordinary moments can become extraordinary memories. And a little structure makes room for more of these.
Thank you for sitting at the table with us. I hope you enjoyed today’s edition. If you have anything at all you’d like to share, ask, or say, just hit reply. I’d love to hear from you.
I appreciate you!
See you tomorrow at the table,
