This matters

Good morning. There’s something about getting back into a routine that makes you realize just how quickly the days were flying by.

The kids are back at school. The house is a little quieter. And maybe, just maybe, we have a little more room to be intentional about how we spend our days.

So before the day gets loud, pull up a chair. Let’s make a little space for what matters.

It started with “just one quick game” but soon, everyone was laughing, scheming, and begging for a rematch

Also great for school – MK shares, “I tutor kids. They are 8-10. They cannot read or write. They cannot add up. Some do not even know their numbers. These games are GREAT for helping them to remember and think while having fun.”

HAPPY THANKFUL THURSDAY!

This week, I’m thankful for…

-My kids back in school. Things are a little calmer. (Definitely less messy!) And suddenly there’s a bit more room to focus on work and health.

-Good education. My kids are in three different schools this year. And with each back-to-school night, I have thought about how grateful I am that they have such good public education available to them.

-Time with friends last weekend. I laugh hard, relax easily, and often try new things when I’m blessed to have time with my people.

It’s funny how sometimes the things that feel ordinary are the things we cherish most.

What ordinary thing are you especially grateful for this week? Hit reply. I’d love to hear yours.

CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK

Prioritize family dinners this week.

The goal isn’t a perfect meal.

It’s creating a predictable place where your family knows: we come together here.

Because years from now, they won’t remember what you served on a random Tuesday.

But they will remember how it felt to sit beside you.

AFFIRMATION OF THE WEEK

We make time for what matters most.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

If your kids could remember only one thing about your family’s everyday life, what would you want that memory to be?

TABLE TALK

I asked my husband if he preferred me to have toned arms or toned legs.

He said, “I would prefer you to have a nice tone when talking to me.”

So now I have several things to work on.

Before the day gets loud, don’t forget to prioritize time for what matters most.
