10 Most Exciting Back to School Breakfast Ideas to Welcome the New Year
Back to school breakfast is an annual family tradition in my home. And in all honesty, it started because I wanted two things:
- a tradition that was doable and low key. We have to eat anyways right?
- to get the kids excited about school
This is simple enough to do every year without adding more work for mom. And interestingly, this tradition has grown into one of my kids’ favorites. Thank goodness a memorable family tradition doesn’t have to be stressful!
What is Back to School Breakfast?
It’s a special breakfast the first morning of school. I throw out a fun tablecloth and paper plates. During breakfast, we ask the kids about things they’re excited and nervous for about the upcoming school year. We might discuss kid goals or schedules too.
Pro Tip: I find that by picking something I can make ahead (like muffins), the morning is a piece of cake. But you can go as simple or elaborate on your food items as you’d like. And you can also pre-buy something at the store if you’re short on time!
