Hi there! This series shares my goals, bucket list items, and progress made every month.
This Month’s Goals

1. Prepare Myself for Summer With the Kids
My main goal for the month is to:
Set a realistic summer schedule for my family: Done. Ideas can be found on summer schedule for kids. I pretty much used all the ideas on that article to set up a daily checklist and a few themed days for us.
Would you like to save this idea?
Set a realistic summer schedule for my work: Done.
Plan fun things for the family time I set aside. Done.
2. Make a Summer Bucket List With the Kids
Done. Here are a few things on the list:
- Use our trail to take a walk to a local coffee shop
- Visit the Farmer’s Market
- Go stargazing at a nearby park
- Nightly family walks
- Tea party with friends
- Colorado hiking
3. Do the Monthly Reading Challenge
For this month, I’m finishing my April book Ask for It: How Women Can Use the Power of Negotiation to Get What They Really Want. – DONE! It was a great book that opened my eyes to how women don’t negotiate and ask for what they want. The studies are stunning!
May reading challenge book was Fourth Wing. I finished it in a day I liked it so much. (Not sure my family appreciated it though!)

4. Conquer the Digital Detox on Sundays
Hmm. I completely forgot about this over Memorial Day weekend. We were with family for a graduation and off of screens anyway. So it worked!
5. Set Aside Quiet Time in the Mornings
My goal is to start with 10 minutes, 3 days a week. And then build from there.
This week, I had quiet time Wednesday, and Saturday mornings. I didn’t quite reach the goal, but plan on setting aside more time in June and July for this. I did write affirmations a lot more this month though, and I really enjoyed them.
6. Celebrate the Last Day of School
We took a picnic to the park this week and stayed a few hours. The kids really enjoyed it!
7. Watch a Documentary or Inspiring Movie (12 for the Year)
I’ve watched 4/12 for the year. So far, I’ve seen:
- King Richard (Based on the true story of Serena and Venus Williams)
- Jiro Dreams of Sushi
- The Greatest Love Story Never Told (Jennifer Lopez)
- Save My Squad (David Beckham)
No update here. I need to get in gear on watching more!
If you have any recommendations of documentaries you’ve loved, please let me know in the comments!
8. Do a Money Challenge
Done. I own a second site, Wealthy Woman Finance, where we share wealth-building tips for women. I worked on a fun 5 in 5 money challenge.
9. Visit a New Coffee Shop Every Month
Done. In week 3. I’ve visited 4/12 for the year.
I’ll update you every Monday to share how I’m doing with these goals.
