You are not alone…
Good morning,
Today I want to honor you for being a mom. As you know, it’s the hardest and most important work we’ll ever do.
While there will always be ways we can do better, I hope you give yourself a pat on the back sometimes too.
I salute you.
It takes unending amounts of patience, compassion, and strength to raise children.
And you are doing great.

The other day, I saw a mom ask for advice about feeding her children, and she immediately received judgement and criticism.
Gosh, it happens all the time
- You are a bad mom if you vaccinate your kids, you’re a bad mom if you don’t
- You are horrible if you don’t breastfeed for years, but you should be totally happy while you do it
- If your kids act out, it’s all your fault
- You have less value if you choose to stay home with your kids. But you’re a bad mother if you work.
Mothers can. not. win. in these scenarios. And I’m so sick of watching women get torn down.
Motherhood is hard enough.
And we’re all doing the best we can
- with what we know
- with the resources we have available
- and with where we’re at in life
So, today is just a little reminder to:
First, remember that you are not less than because of what others tell you. Be proud of the mother you are. It’s exactly the one your kids need. Keep learning and growing, but give yourself grace too.
And second, practice compassion with other moms. In a world that tears us down, let’s be the light that lifts us all up.
I pledge to do this for you whenever I can, and I think together, we can light up the night.
And end the mom wars.
