Last month I read….

April Reading Challenge: Good Enough by Kate Bowler

For the April reading challenge I read Good Enough: 40ish Devotionals For A Life of Imperfection. It’s by New York Times bestselling author Kate Bowler and Jessica Richie. With its 40 brief daily excerpts, I hoped to find inspiration amidst the chaos of everyday life. And embrace imperfection.

My thoughts? I adored the authors’ candid, humorous reflections on life’s challenges and beauty. Each daily excerpt was both encouraging and enjoyable. I felt uplifted after reading each day.

Overall, I enjoyed a daily dose of inspiration while embracing the reality that life will never be perfect—and that’s perfectly okay.

This month, I’ll be reading…

May reading challenge: Fourth Wing

For our May challenge, we are reading New York Times Best Sellers. I have chosen Fourth Wing book 1 of 3 in The Empyrean series by Rebecca Yarros.

I’m stepping outside my usual reading comfort zone with this series, but I’m excited to get started!

Amazon summary: Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general – also known as her tough-as-talons mother – has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders.

Any New York Times Best Seller past or present works for this month’s challenge!

Kids Reading Challenge

Kids are reading a New York Times Best Seller this month also!

kids reading challenge for May: New York Times Bestseller

My kids have been devouring the Diary of a Wimpy Kid and the Star Wars Jedi Academy best-seller book series.

Pro Tip: Get your kids to read book one of a new series and they may be hooked! Grab a reading book light and let them stay up 10 extra minutes reading in bed each night. (It works!)

But our favorite picture book right now is Dragons Love Tacos. In fact, I read it to my son’s first-grade class just this week. It was a hit!

Grab your copy or watch our read-aloud video of this book.
