Last month I read….
Would you like to save this idea?
For the July reading challenge, I read Beach Read by Emily Henry.
This charming tale follows a romance writer and a literary writer, both facing creative blocks for different reasons. They embark on a summer-long challenge to swap writing styles…and discover a lot about themselves and each other along the way.
My overall thoughts?
This story had a cute and fun plot! I enjoyed the characters. It was perfect for a quick and easy vacation read!
This month, I’ll be reading…
The August reading challenge is to read the first book of a series or continue a series you’ve already started.
With some extra reading time during my vacation this month, I’m diving back into the second book of two series I have started.
Amazon summary for Iron Flame: Everyone expected Violet Sorrengail to die during her first year at Basgiath War College—Violet included. But now the real training begins, and Violet’s already wondering how she’ll get through. Because Violet knows the real secret hidden for centuries at Basgiath War College—and nothing, not even dragon fire, may be enough to save them in the end. (*Read Fourth Wing first!)
Amazon summary for The Likeness: Cassie Maddox has transferred out of the Dublin Murder Squad—until an urgent telephone call brings her back to an eerie crime scene. Suddenly, Cassie is back undercover, to find out not only who killed a young woman, but, more importantly, who she was. (*Read In The Woods first!)

Kids are also picking up a book in a series for August.
One of the best ways to get a child hooked back into reading is to read the first book of a series.
