Become the master of the ‘pivot’

When life gets tough (as it inevitably will), do you crumble and fall apart?

Or do you pivot?

Nobody talks about pivoting as a skill. But it sure as heck is.

In fact, I believe it’s what makes the difference in parenting. Life. And business.

  • You’re suddenly sick (or your whole family is)
  • You get word that there’s ANOTHER snow day
  • Your kid unexpectedly gets in trouble at school
  • A new exciting business strategy falls flat

These things paralyze people. Make them spiral for days, weeks, and sometimes even years.

But NOT YOU friend. Because you know the power of dusting yourself off and getting back at it. Even when you don’t feel like it.

You know that nothing worthwhile ever comes easily.

And that “life is tough, but so are you.” -Stephanie Henry

So, this week, when a curve ball comes at you…

  1. Acknowledge the setback. It’s ok to feel down.
  2. But monitor your self-talk too. The faster you pivot, the better off you’ll be.

Because no matter what comes at you, you’ll figure it out. You always do.

What does self-kindness look like for me in daily life? How can I practice it today?
