September Goal Wrap Up. Run My First Half Marathon
Well, I got all the way to the end of training. I ran 12 miles. And then one week later I hurt my knee from pushing it after traveling too much. I’m still trying to recover it enough to exercise and it’s been 4 weeks.
1. Get to Running Again
After doing so much work, this feels like quite the setback. But sometimes this is how it goes.
My goal for October is simply to start running again. (Injuries always help you appreciate your body when it’s healthy!) Running a half marathon is still my goal – it just might take longer than I imagined. I have to accept that.
2. Do the Monthly Reading Challenge
My book from last month was Just the Nicest Couple. I’m approximately 5 pages into it. Yikes!
That means I’ll have 2 books this month. My mystery + a new October thriller. Everyone’s been talking about Verity, so I’ll be giving this a try!

3. Watch a Documentary or Inspiring Movie (12 for the Year)
This month, I re-watched my favorite episodes of Limitless with Chris Hemsworth (Disney+). It’s so fun to see people do things that others deem impossible or odd. And one of the things I love about this documentary is that he’s surprisingly relatable!
I’ve watched 8 out of 12 for the year.
This year, I’ve seen:
- King Richard (Based on the true story of Serena and Venus Williams)
- Jiro Dreams of Sushi
- The Greatest Love Story Never Told (Jennifer Lopez)
- Save My Squad (David Beckham)
- The Race to Alaska
- The Greatest Showman
- The Young Woman and the Sea
- Limitless
If you have any recommendations of documentaries you’ve loved, please let me know in the comments!
September Goal Wrap Up: Do the “Find Extra $ Challenge”
I was pleasantly surprised by all the “hidden” money I found. Credit card rewards add up over time!

4. In October, I’d Like to Start an “Invest in Yourself” Challenge
I’m just not sure what this will look like yet!
5. Visit a New Coffee Shop Every Month
This month, I visited one with the cutest decor.
I’ve been to 8 out of 12 for the year.
September Wrap Up: Get Back Into Smoothies
My goal was to have a smoothie 3x a week this month. I’d say I made it 2x a week. Considering the way the month went, I’m going to count it as a win.
That’s it for this month! I’m cutting back to 5 goals in October to give myself a little more breathing room after a tough month 🙂
I’ll update you once a month to share how I’m doing with these goals.
