💡Idea of the Day
We love creating new goals for ourselves.
But as time moves on, real life gets in the way. Our aspirations become less shiny.
If you’re feeling lackluster, there are ways to stay on track with your goals and habits!
These actions will keep you motivated and moving forward:
1. Track Your EFFORT
A habit tracker or Xs on your calendar build momentum and encourage you to stay consistent. The more you track, the more you’ll do the actions required for the goal – it’s a natural occurrence.
2. Have a Weekly Check-in
Check-ins are helpful for anything from self-care to finance goals. And weekly or monthly meetings with others can be what you need to stay on task long-term.
3. Send “Evidence” to a Buddy
Use positive peer pressure to keep you going when it’s tough! For months last year, I sent weekly food logs to my sister. I lost 10lbs as a result of this ONE action.
4. Sign Up Ahead
Enroll in the class, book the vacation, schedule the babysitters, or sign up for the 10K months in advance. By doing this you are putting skin in the game and making it WAY more likely you’ll follow through.
Society tells us that people accomplish amazing things because of superhuman willpower.
That’s not true.
Goal crushers get that way because they put systems in place that help them follow through. Even when it sucks. Even when they wish they could give up.
So, what tactic will you use to help stay on track?
Remember, there’s a reason you have big beautiful dreams.
You’ll get there if you stay the course,
